Croswhite headed to decathlon Nationals

Newport sophomore Lucas Croswhite placed third in the USATF Junior Olympics Regional Competition held at Central Valley High School July 3-6. Lucas placed third in the decathlon to advance to Nationals in Georgia at Savannah State University from Monday, July 21 to Sunday, July 27. This includes personal records in the long jump, getting 11.09 (second fastest in Newport history) in the 100-meter, shot put, discus, pole vault, javelin, and the 1500-meter.
