NEWPORT – Fire Station 61-Furport is hosting an open house at 7572 LeClerc Rd. in Newport with free hot dogs, chips and water while supplies last on Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Get a swag bag with a South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue pen and materials containing burn information, Firewise, LifeFlight, Nixel alert and volunteer application information.

Reflective address signs are available for a $25 donation while supplies last.

Newport High School Memorial Day yard sale

NEWPORT – Newport High School is holding its annual Memorial Day yard sale Friday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will be combined with the Newport School District surplus sale, so there will be more furniture and larger items.

Selkirk School Board holds meet and greet

IONE – The Selkirk School District Board of Directors will be at the Ione Community Center on Tuesday, June 11 at 6 p.m. to connect with the community on school-related topics. The board invites residents to come meet board members and share their thoughts in this informal setting. Current school board members are: Chairman Ryan Kiss, Vice-Chair Rennie Pelkie, Scott Jungblom, Merle (Mak) Kalstrom and Stephany Petrich. The board would like community input and hopes to see a good turn-out.
