Newport Grizzly pitcher Hank Kirkwood fires a pitch to a Kettle Falls batter at home in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday, April 5. Newport swept the Bulldogs 12-2 and 4-0. The Grizzlies beat them 11-3 at Kettle Falls April 1. Tuesday, March 29, the Grizzlies lost both games of a doubleheader to Northwest Christian 11-1 and 8-1 after having beaten them 5-0 in Newport March 25. The Crusaders are first in the league and Newport second.
