USA Capitol has well-lit windows of golden light All fifty stars shine in windows bright President has a mighty sore finger He got stung by bumble bee’s stinger Betty Bumble Bee in the white House bedsprings Bounced high as if she were a queen Betty lived in a wee hole Under President Lincoln’s toe On Easter the Liberty Bell gonged It was heard in Hong Kong Children rolled red, white and blue Rotten eggs hardened In the White House garden Politicians were hoping for a day of rest Business in the Capitol was a mess When the toilet at the White House Sprung a leak – festivities stopped for a week Beautiful pink blossoms on Washington’s cherry trees Swished like a fish and lost their leaves And the symbol of America – stars and stripes still wag On Washington D.C. waving flag -Elaine Magdalene Faires
