West Bonner equal education policy changed

PRIEST RIVER - West Bonner County School District Board of Trustees struck gender identity and sexual orientation from its policy regarding Equal Education, Nondiscrimination and Sex Equity at a general meeting Wednesday, April 16. According to trustee Kathy Nash wording regarding gender identity and sexual orientation in school district policy is, “no longer required” by Idaho state law. There was very little discussion regarding policy 3280 at the meeting, except for trustee vice chair Margaret Hall, who did not openly support potential LGBTQ+ West Bonner students, but voiced concerns that all students be protected from harassment and discrimination.
