Bonner County nonprofit campaign triples goal

SANDPOINT — The first-ever Live Give 7B giving week ended April 18 with the campaign more than tripling its original goal.

Almost 500 donors contributed just over $228,000 to the campaign, with its original goal being $70,000. While the giving week was Live Give 7B’s highlight, its purpose as an initiative is also to be a year-round resource that helps the community discover, connect with and support nonprofits throughout Bonner County.

“We wanted to help our neighbors focus on the work being done right here in Bonner County — work that often flies under the radar but makes this community what it is,” said Dig Chrismer in an Innovia Foundation news release. Chrismer is the nonprofit’s regional director. “Live Give 7B brings that work into the spotlight.”

The campaign culminated with celebrations in Priest River at Timber Town Beer Company and in Sandpoint at Matchwood Brewing, drawing nonprofit staff, volunteers and supporters from across the country.

The Innovia Foundation describe Live Give 7B as a movement, not just a moment. According to the news release, organizers plan to build on this year’s momentum by hosting additional community events and expanding outreach efforts.
