Oscarson inspired by nature

Doris Oscarson

Age: 62 Town: Oldtown Artistic medium: Acrylics and oil Question: Why do you make this type of art?

Answer: I make this type of art because it’s what makes me feel alive.

I enjoy it so much, and second of all to bring joy to the world and something lovely people can enjoy.

Q: What does your artwork represent?

A: My artwork represents kindness and joy and the beauty of nature.

Q: What inspires you?

A: I am Inspired by the beauty of nature and comical things that make people smile.

Q: How do you make art?

A: Well, that’s a loaded question! I often start with collage and then an expressive underpainting with inks, spray paint and acrylic paint and then move into oils to finish it. It also just depends on how creativity leads me!

Q: What does your art mean to you?

A: That is hard to put into words. It is my passion! It’s almost like a day without art is like a day without sunshine. I wake up every day excited to get into my studio! To say I love it is an understatement.

Q: Do you have any exhibits/ shows coming up?

A: I have several upcoming events, like the spring festival at Priest Lake at Coolin May 2425, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I also have plans to participate in the block party at Emerge Gallery in Coeur d’Alene on July 11.

I also have art displayed at the Vessel Gallery here in Newport, and at a restaurant in Rathdrum called Fish On.
