Shirley the Sea Serpent

Down at the bubbling bottom of the twirling whirling sea Shirley the Sea Serpent got her tail caught up in a great big rock She swished like a witch, but it wouldn’t come free She rocked and rolled like a clown and almost drowned An earthquake hit – she was free to eat the weeds of the sea So, she had hiccups – tough on her striped throat And rough to see in the roaring sea Shirely was covered with shiny sparkling scales Had a pirate flag on her long trailing tail She was wound up like a tic toc clock Her tongue flared out like a red-hot fire Shirley’s eyes blinked sea salt – she did a summersault Her belly puffed up like a creampuff Bubbles blew from her nose and stinky hollow toes She arose out of the water And a sea monster caught her – she was whiney So, the sea monster dumped her in the briny sea Shirley’s skeleton rattled and her scratched feet paddled A huge wave conked the sea monster on the head It picked Shirley up to the sky Where she let was let loose and left to dry Poor Shirley!
