NEWPORT — Newport Hospital and Health Services has cancelled this year’s Autumn Bloom Fun Run.
The NHHS Foundation Board voted at its May meeting to pause and evaluate the annual event this year.
“The board is in the midst of strategic planning to assess the way all of our events and programs help us live out our mission,” wrote Josh Johnson, marketing and Foundation manager, in an email.
All League names
Cusick, Selkirk players
CUSICK — Players from Cusick Panther and Selkirk Ranger baseball teams were named to Northeast 1B North All League teams.
Two Panther baseball players, freshman Kaden Person and sophomore Judah Sutton, and two Ranger baseball players, Caden Pichette and senior Parker Petrich, made All League.
Northport had three All League players, Curlew had two and Republic had one.
In softball, one Ranger player, senior Mackenzie Zaren, made All League.
Republic had one, and Northport had five.
Newport ball players make All League
NEWPORT — Players from the Newport Grizzlies baseball and softball teams were named to Northeast 2B North All League teams.
Four Grizzly softball players made All League, including freshman Makayla Peone, sophomores Bella Boyd and Lili Hall and junior Genica Kreider.
Three Newport baseball players, junior Brad Martin III and seniors Hank Kirkwood and Ryder Riddles, were named to the Northeast 2B North All League baseball. Chewelah had five All League players, Northwest Christian had four, Reardan had two and Kettle Falls had one.
In softball, four Kettle Falls players made All League, Northwest Christian had two and Davenport had two players on All League.
Newport players make All League tennis
NEWPORT — Players from the Newport Grizzly tennis teams were named to Northeast 2B North All League teams.
Two Grizzly girls’ tennis players made All League: junior Emmalee Doughty and senior Olivia Sears, who are on the first team. Chewelah had one All League player on the first team and two on the second, while St.
George’s had one on the second.
One Grizzly boys’ tennis player, senior Preston Davis, made the second team in the All League.
St. George’s had three players on the first team, while Lind-Ritzville/ Sprague had two on the second.
