There is a little spider web behind my colorful ceramic Christmas tree plug I noticed it today in the shimmering sunlight A tiny brown speckled legged spider His web hanging so tight to the nightlight He let himself into my house through a bump In a crack in the bathroom floor jack Spencer speckled brown spider waits patiently for little critters Bugs to bump into the ceramic white Christmas light plug-in These are the colors of his wobbling web Babble Blue Gracious Green Pompous Purple Edgewater Orange My ceramic Christmas Tree light is checkered white On the floor reflected bright around the bathtub ring Spencer loved to sing Spencer spiker lost a locket of his curly brown leg hair Under the spout of the sink faucet He crossed the string of wire tangled and dangling And spangling and sparkling On strong wire threads he headed for bed Hopefully he will never get tangled up in the porcelain Christmas tree Plug-in in my bathroom AGAIN - Elaine Magdalene Faires
