NEWPORT – The Pend Oreille County Library District’s Summer Reading Challenge returns for all ages with a series of free events.
Summer programming is already in full swing, with upcoming events that include pollinator workshops, book clubs, gaming days and much more. Program guides can be found at any branch of the Pend Oreille County Library or browse the complete schedule online at www.pocld.org/event-directory.
This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is packed with opportunities for readers of all ages to earn prizes. Children up to sixth grade can read at least 10 books to earn fun rewards. Preschoolers can enjoy a creative twist with an optional paint palette activity to enhance their reading experience. Teens and adults can pick up a bingo sheet and complete a traditional bingo or go for a full blackout to be entered to win one of several $50 gift cards for Amazon, Visa, Etsy or Steam.
All prizes are made possible through the support of the Friends of the Library. Reading logs and bingo cards are available now at all Pend Oreille County Library locations. Summer Reading runs now through Saturday, Aug. 16.
