SACHEEN LAKE — Four weekend performances are scheduled for “Northwoods Unleashed! Rocks the 60s & 70s (And Some Surprises)” on Aug. 1–2 and Aug. 8–9. Audiences will take a trip down memory lane with two solid hours of notable, favorite oldies provided by a cast of talented performers, promoters promise.
Dinner Show tickets are $35 per person, and $14 for the show only.
Senior and children’s tickets are $12. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dining service begins at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain opens at 7:30 p.m.

Summer Cutter Theatre tours available
METALINE FALLS — The Cutter Theatre continues to offer its guided building tours this summer. The schedule includes July 26, Aug. 9 and Aug. 23. The tours are offered from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and are hosted by Tom and Lynn Barnes. The tours are free, and a self-guided tour is available during the Cutter office hours (or with Tara if she’s in the building).
People can also call the Cutter at 509-446-4108 to arrange for a private tour.

Reading Challenge, summer programs at Pend Oreille Libraries
NEWPORT — The Pend Oreille County Library District announced its summer events, along with the return of the popular Summer Reading Challenge for all ages.
Summer programming is already in full swing, with upcoming events that include pollinator workshops, book clubs, gaming days and much more. Whether you’re looking to learn something new, find your next favorite read or just have some fun, there’s something for everyone this season.

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is packed with opportunities for readers of all ages to earn prizes: Children (up to 6th grade) — Read at least 10 books to earn fun rewards! Preschoolers can enjoy a creative twist with an optional paint palette activity to enhance their reading experience.
Teens & Adults — Pick up a bingo sheet and complete a traditional bingo or go for a full blackout to be entered to win one of several $50 gift cards (Amazon, Visa, Etsy, or Steam).
All prizes are made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Library. Reading logs and bingo cards are available now at all Pend Oreille County Library locations.

Prepare for Viking Faire
NEWPORT — Let’s Vike It, a Viking era faire, is coming to Newport City Park at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. The event will host Viking age demonstrations, entertainers and vendors. There will be a history of the Norse people in the history tent, shield-making, ironworking, games, storytelling and more. The faire is family-friendly and there is no entry fee.
