EDITOR’S NOTE: The police reports, taken from dispatch logs provided to The Miner by law enforcement agencies, are not intended to be an exact report, but rather a comprehensive list of police calls in Pend Oreille and West Bonner counties. Dispatch also fields calls for the Kalispel Tribe’s property in Airway Heights.
Certain police calls are generally omitted because of space constraints. These include, but aren’t limited to ambulance calls for illness, unfounded alarms, traffic stops, dogs at large, abandoned vehicles, 911 hang–ups and civil standbys. FIRE: Southshore Diamond Lake Rd., Diamond Lake, report that caller could see smoke coming from vacant lot across from them, but no flames; looked like something was smoldering.

THEFT: Sullivan Creek Rd., Metaline Falls, report of two paddleboards taken July 25.
THEFT: W. Walnut St., Newport, report that someone stole some dog food.
