NEWPORT — President Donald Trump’s administration has released the remainder of the funding held for review from the Newport School District since late June.

The withheld funds included $50,000 from the Supporting Effective Instruction Program and $48,266 from the Student Support and Academic Enrichment Program.

With $431,907 released from the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program earlier this month, the Newport School District can now spend $530,173 in federal funding for the 2025–2026 school year.
