The county fair is one of the highlights of the year for participants, their families and the community. Here is a look at the 2025 Pend Oreille County Fair, held Thursday, Aug.

14-Sunday, Aug. 17.

The fair isn’t all about animals, there are exhibitions for artists, too. Here are a couple works by 6-year-old Asher Smith of Newport, who won red ribbons for ‘Dripping Rainbow,’ a crayon art piece and ‘The Green Forest,’ an acrylic on canvas drawing. MINER PHOTO|MICHELLE NEDVED
