COEUR d’ALENE – Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) will auction eight state endowment lots on Priest Lake appraised at just over $10.4 million for deeded ownership on Saturday, Aug. 23, in Coeur d’Alene. Six lots are leased and two are unleased.
The auction starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Best Western – Coeur d’Alene Inn.
All leased lots have cabins on them. The land is held in trust by IDL for Public Schools beneficiaries, but the cabins and other improvements on the land are owned by the leaseholders as personal property. One of the unleased lots also has a cabin on it, which is owned by the endowment.
The current leaseholders applied to participate in the auction. If the high bid is from someone other than the current leaseholder, the winning bidder must pay the leaseholder the appraised value of the home and personal property on the land at the time of the auction. The personal property on the unleased lot is included in the appraised value.
Free preschool screening
NEWPORT – The Newport School District provides a variety of special programs for children. Many of these programs are also available to preschoolers with special needs, and at no cost to parents/guardians.
By identifying a child’s special needs at an early age, the district hopes to provide the child a better opportunity to reach his or her full learning potential.
On Wednesday, Sept. 3 the Newport School District will offer a free screening to any child 3-5 years old in the Newport School District. The following areas will be screened: cognitive (thinking and pre-academic skills), communication (speech and language), fine motor (writing, drawing, cutting, visual/motor), gross motor (balance, throwing, kicking), vision and hearing.
To schedule a screening for a preschool aged child or for more information about the services available, contact Keri Leslie at 447-3167 ext. 4507 or email lesliekeri@newportgriz. com.
