SEATTLE — The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation has announced a new round of funding available for owners of historic barns in the state.
Owners of designated heritage barns are eligible to apply for grants to assist with barn stabilization and rehabilitation projects. Approximately $900,000 is available in this grant cycle, with grant awards typically ranging from $25,000 to $40,000 and capping at a maximum eligible grant award of $75,000.
The deadline to submit applications for Heritage Barn Initiative grants is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19.
The Heritage Barn initiative is a grant program of the Washington State Department of Archaeology.
The Washington Trust is hosting free online information sessions from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 10. Staff will answer questions and discuss the application process.
