In a fitting matchup, “Chicken Story Time” by Sandy Asher was the book read at Chicken Storytime, recently hosted by the Calispel Valley Library.
The story’s chickens were bolder than the guest, Pippin, who got shy and sat in librarian Willow Taylor’s lap the whole time. Library manager Maria Town said Pippin did like being petted and, “The kids were all very gentle.”
After the story participants used construction paper to make dancing chickens.
