No boys’ soccer at Priest River this season
PRIEST RIVER — It looks like Priest River Lamanna High boys’ soccer will have to try again next season after it was announced Tuesday, Sept. 2 that there would be no program for the 2025–2026 school year.
“I regret to inform you that the difficult decision has been made to cancel the 2025 boys’ soccer season for Priest River,” health and physical education instructor and boys’ soccer coach Brook Perry wrote in an email to media. “This is due to a lack of player eligibility to meet our total players needed based upon the coach’s guidebook of 14 players.”
Perry added that this only affects boys’ soccer, and girls’ soccer will continue.
“We will try to regroup and try again next season,” Perry said.
The Idaho High School Activities Association does not set an official roster size for soccer, allowing individual schools to determine their own roster limits.
