Calispel Valley Library busy

CUSICK — The Calispel Valley Library in Cusick has several events coming up in the next two weeks.

Thursday, Sept. 11, the walking club takes a hike at 9 a.m. Walkers are invited to bring a camera and binoculars as the group walks along the Pend Oreille River. Weather permitting, the group walks every Thursday and Saturday the library is open.

Also on Thursday, there will be a beginners’ crochet class at noon, with Loosely Knit gathering at 1 p.m. People are invited to bring their own knitting, crochet and fiber art projects and join Loosely Knit for coffee, tea and company. The group meets every Thursday.

Saturday Sept. 13 family movies are shown at the library at noon.

While the library is officially closed on Mondays, it is open for gamers. At 9 a.m., Magic: The Gathering, a fantasy-themed collectible card game, is played. People 13 and older are invited. At 11 a.m. adults play Dungeons and Dragons. No experience is necessary to play this tabletop role-playing game. Magic Monday takes place at 11 a.m. every Monday.

At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 Storytime takes place, in which families with children of all ages are invited to take part in stories, rhymes, music and crafts. People can stay after Storytime to take part in cooperative play with Lego, blocks and sensory bins.

The Calispel Library is located at 107 1st Ave. in Cusick. The library is closed Sunday and Monday but open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
