Weed Board Workshop this Friday
NEWPORT – The Pend Oreille County Noxious Weed Board invites landowners and licensed pesticide applicators to attend its End of Summer Workshop on Friday, Sept. 26, 4-6 p.m. The event will be held in person at the Weed Board office in Newport located at 227 S. Garden Ave. and will also be available virtually via Zoom.
This two-hour workshop offers a final opportunity this season to earn WSDA recertification credits, stay up to date on the latest licensing requirements, and prepare for fall. Topics will include end-of-season equipment shutdown procedures, proper pesticide storage and disposal, recordkeeping and compliance tips, and updates from the Washington State Department of Agriculture regarding continuing education and licensing changes. The session will also include a Q&A with Weed Board staff and guest presenters. If you hold a pesticide applicator’s license, this workshop is a convenient way to gain required credits and make sure you’re on track with current regulations before the year ends.
