Newport homecoming festivities

NEWPORT – Homecoming is here for the Newport School District. The community parade featuring all the grades marching down Washington Avenue starts at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. Local businesses are encouraged to decorate their businesses in Grizzly colors of black and red. The varsity football game starts at 7 p.m. against Northwest Christian High at Ellersick Field.

Public meeting on Priest River Bridge replacement

PRIEST RIVER – There will be a public meeting about the Priest River Bridge replacement on Highway 2 on Thursday, Nov. 6, 4-6 p.m., at the Priest River Event Center. It will be in an open house format, so people can stop by at their convenience to view displays, talk with the project team, and provide feedback. Idaho Transportation Department planning and design teams are focused on evaluating replacement options.

Public input will help shape the final design, construction phasing, and ultimately, a more precise cost estimate.
