There will be a Halloween craft night at the Camas Center for Community Wellness from 2–5 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 16. This event is for all ages. Activities include making ghost magnets, Halloween lanterns, pumpkin painting and wooden Halloween houses. Supplies are limited, so first come, first served.

Newport school hosting county science fair
NEWPORT - The Newport School District is hosting a science fair.
Judging is Thursday, Oct. 23, with the public viewing the following day from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.
Projects will be on display in the Stratton Elementary School library and gymnasium.
The Pend Oreille County Science Fair is a fun, hands-on science fair open to students across the county and Idaho. Students who entered the fair were encouraged to explore their curiosity, build their own science display and present their project to community judges.
All projects were required to be safe, age-appropriate and in adherence to school guidelines, including having a clear hypothesis, detailed procedure and proper documentation of research and results. They were completed outside school hours, with or without parental involvement depending on grade level.
Awards will be given per grade band: K–1, 2–4, 5–8 and 9–12. There will be special awards for top projects in each category, and a grand prize winner.
Holiday fair showcasing local vendors
USK — Local vendors are showcasing unique, hand-crafted gift and decor items at the Usk Holiday Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2442 Black Rd. in Usk. Lunch is also available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Among the items vendors will showcase are wooden bowls, signs, pinecone ornaments, puzzles, baskets, wreaths, plants, jewelry, honey, jams, soap, scrubs, sea glass art, custom photo books, cards, calendars, string art kits, knitted, crocheted and sewed items, tote bags, afghans, aprons, animal bandanas and Christmas stockings.

Circle Moon hosting murder mystery show
SACHEEN LAKE — Northwoods Performing Arts presents its annual play, titled “Attack of the Lake People,” directed by Terri Caldwell.
“Attack” features an eccentric rural slice of life full of oddball characters, funny lines and a few unexpected twists. A family reunion turns into a real upside-down adventure, where everybody is a suspect when someone unexpectedly dies. The play is written by Pat Cook, the same author of “Barbecuing Hamlet,” and is produced by special arrangement with Eldridge Publishing Co.
Scheduled performances are Oct. 17–18 and 24–25.
Dinner show tickets are $35 per person or $14 for the show only. Senior and children’s tickets are $12. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dining service begins at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain opens at 7:30 p.m.
