Age: 62 Occupation: Retired Prior elected experience: McNeal served on the Ione council six to eight years 1. What have you done that makes you the best candidate?

I don’t take any kind of kickbacks. Dollar General came in and I fought to get that in.

2. Where do you see Ione in 10 years? Unless they change their things, they’re going to be hurting. They need to start letting business come in.

3. What would you like to see changed in Ione?

The people fought the Dollar General from coming in because it wasn’t locally owned. It was a corporate thing. Everybody up here doesn’t want new companies coming in, they don’t want any outside influences coming in and it’s going to kill this town. When the teenagers graduate high school, they move away because they don’t have anywhere to work up here. The mines are closed, the logging is closed. They have no chance of making money.
