Town of Metaline Falls council member No. 2

Mark Lockwood

Age: 41 Occupation: Senior Software Engineer Prior elected experience: None 1. What have you done that makes you the best candidate? I have been attending council meetings for more than a year to understand how our town government functions. If elected, my first focus would be crafting a website that allows supervision of council business and meetings and offers sewer bill payment options and an outlet for the mayor to promote our town and area. Council members have a rotating responsibility to monitor finances, and I consider this a critical role for oversight.

My attendance at council meetings does not depend on winning this election. I would still attend, engage and volunteer because a community of this size develops with participation, not promises.

2. Where do you see Metaline Falls in 10 years?

Still a gorgeous town in the northeast Washington wilderness. Ideally with increased outdoor tourism traffic and businesses to support them. The economy needs to diversify as mining and industry wind down.

3. What would you like to see changed in Metaline Falls?

Improved signage and awareness of our town. Highway 31 is not our main street, and many drivers pass by unaware of a town with our resources.
