NEWPORT — The Newport Library needs patrons’ help to solve a Halloween mystery.
Families are invited to participate in The Haunted Halloween Heist, a mystery adventure where patrons themselves become detectives solving a case in the spookyfun Shufflemore Woods. This event is at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Newport Library.
Every Halloween, the monsters, ghouls and goblins of the Shufflemore Woods gather for their legendary Halloween Festival, complete with eerie decorations, haunting tunes and the highlight of the night: a candy-filled piñata.
But this year, disaster has struck: last night, while the monsters were preparing for their bash, the party supplies vanished. Gravestones were toppled, pumpkins disappeared, the guards went missing, bats and spiders fled and, worst of all, the piñata was stolen.
All that remains are a few scattered pieces of candy and a whole lot of confusion; everyone knows you do not mess with the piñata.
Participants must follow clues, interview suspects and help uncover the culprit behind the Halloween heist before the festival is ruined forever.
