County library offering last Scam Shield class

NEWPORT — The Pend Oreille County Library District is offering its final in-library session of the class “Senior Scam Shield: Spot and Stop Fraud” at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at the Newport Library.

This class is designed to help seniors recognize and avoid modern scams. From phone and online fraud to financial and identity theft schemes, the instructor will cover scammers’ latest tactics and provide practical tips to stay safe. Participants will learn how to identify red flags, protect their personal information and respond confidently to suspicious situations.
