CUSICK — The Pend Oreille Public Utility District presented the Cusick School District with a $24,000 check Wednesday, Oct. 15.
The check was a rebate check for recently completing energy efficiency upgrades at Cusick school facilities, according to a PUD news release. The district replaced lighting across all its buildings, an improvement expected to save more than 136,000 kilowatt-hours annually, equivalent to about $8,400 in annual energy costs.
The rebate was made possible through the PUD’s Energy Efficiency Incentive Program, offered in partnership with the Bonneville Power Administration, which helps local organizations and municipalities invest in long-term energy savings.
Businesses or customers interested in learning more about available energy efficiency programs can contact the PUD for information on current incentives and opportunities. Go to www.popud. org for more information.
