A brighter future

The Pend Oreille Public Utility District’s April Owen and Amber Gifford presenting the Kalispel Tribe’s Tell Hamilton, Alec Bluff and Madi Campbell with a $34,324 energy efficiency rebate check for completing major upgrades at the Camas Center for Community Wellness in Cusick. The upgrades are expected to save more than 305,457 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year — enough to power about 25 homes — while improving lighting quality and reducing maintenance costs.
