Students in the Cusick School District’s Future Farmers of America/agriculture program accepting a
$20,000 donation from the Kalispel Tribe. This donation will help cover about 30% of the estimated cost to build a greenhouse, a state-of-the-art, 1,152-square-foot classroom space that will allow students to grow fresh produce, conduct research products, expand their hydroponic lettuce operation and plan a community plant sale. The Cusick School District has been applying for grants to cover the remaining
60%, with construction on the greenhouse to begin next spring if funding is secured.
