NEWPORT — The Hospitality House, which serves free breakfasts, is seeking donations to add another free meal.
Free breakfasts are served at the Hospitality House from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays. To add another free meal later in the day, the Hospitality House is asking for donations from local churches and organizations.
Donations may include cans collected following church services, monetary donations, time cooking, serving or cleaning up following a meal or turns taken in the Hospitality House kitchen to make a meal with assistance. To avoid accumulating garbage, the Hospitality House will serve food on “real” table service such as glass bowls, plates and silverware, according to a Hospitality House news release.
To participate in the Hospitality House’s Soup Kitchen call 509-447-3812. Collections and donations can be left at the Hospitality House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays to Fridays or by calling for pick-up.
The Hospitality House also wants to post a list of free meals served throughout the area. If a local church or organization serves a free meal, inform the Hospitality House to add them to said list.
