Results in for local council races

NEWPORT – With 29.45% voter turnout so far, 3,290 ballots have been counted as of 8 p.m. Tuesday in Pend Oreille County. The county includes 11,171 voters. Ballots postmarked by Nov. 5 will continue to be counted as they arrive at the auditor’s office. Check The Miner Online for results throughout the week.

In a race for Newport City Council Member No. 1, Nathan Weathers is winning with 187 votes, over John Spring who has 154 votes.

Sherice McAnerin is beating Walter Minsal 66-18 for Town of Metaline Falls Mayor.

In the race for Town of Metaline Falls Council Member No. 2 Mark Lockwood has 49 votes to 32 for Robbin Witty.

Ken Timmreck is winning 55-25 over Cory McNeal for Town of Ione Council Member No. 5.

In the race of Town of Cusick Council Member No. 5, Jon W. Adams is defeating Hayden Taylor 28-14. Everett Alford is defeating incumbent Afton Servas, 17-12 for Town of Cusick Council Member No. 1.

For Fire protection District No. 4 commissioner, Alan Thompson is leading with 249 votes to 183 for JoAnn Boggs.
