Ballot counts change outcomes in local races

NEWPORT – As ballots continue to be counted in the Pend Oreille County Auditor’s Office, two race results have changed since Tuesday’s original count. 

As of Thursday, Nov. 6, at 10:19 a.m., Cusick town council incumbent Afton Servas has overtaken challenger Everett Alford and is leading 19-17. Tuesday night, Alford led 17-12. There were also 17 write-ins for the Position No. 1. 

Also in Cusick, write-in candidate Robert Reinhardt has overtaken Tina Alford for mayor. Alford has 16 votes to Reinhardt’s 34. 

Leaders in other races have not changed, but vote counts have been updated.
