Three courses of culture

Three courses of culture

In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the Kalispel Tribe hosted a Cultural Dinner the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Kalispel Casino in Cusick. The dinner featured a threecourse menu created by Kalispel Casino chef Brian Viramontes that blended his own Mexican American heritage with Native cuisine: a three sisters stew appetizer, a braised bison with blackberry mole main dish and a lemon huckleberry cheesecake. This event was just one of several the Kalispel Tribe is hosting throughout the month, with the remainder scheduled in Spokane County.
