Practice burn

Firefighters set this house on fire near Newport Hospital Saturday morning. The weather cooperated; the wind stayed relatively calm.

The training consisted of search and rescue exercises led by South Pend Oreille Fire & Rescue’s Lieutenant Corey Toombs prior to the controlled burn and the defensive controlled live burn training on Saturday, June 15.
