What Makes a Poem

I like to write poetry, but sometimes it’s a challenge, developing a subject to write about can be hard to balance.

It is the style of some to write many words, but not rhyme, that is how many express themselves and it’s not a crime.

I quite enjoy writing about things that I am inspired by, I clear my mind until a theme comes to me, I don’t know why.

I write about thoughts and dreams and the many things I’ve seen, and I try to make the words rhyme for that is amusing to me.

Poems can be created from what is in your mind or your heart, often the most difficult thing to do is figure out where to start.

When you write down a thought, it is not committed to stone, If a better idea is thought of, you can change it without a groan.

Our beliefs and ideas that we have can change as we get older, things we thought of as hot when young, with age just get colder.

Poems have a life that can be timeless, with age they can smolder, A poem can be either good or bad, it is in the eye of the beholder.
