TEKOA — The Cusick basketball season gets underway next week with an away game with Tekoa Rosalia Tuesday, Dec. 2. The girls game starts at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.

Grizzlies open BB season at tournament

CHEWELAH — The Newport basketball teams are opening their season with a three-school tournament Monday, Dec. 1.

The boys start at 4 p.m. and the girls at 5:30 p.m. at Jenkins in Chewelah, who is competing along with Colville.

Rangers basketball opens with two games

METALINE FALLS — The Selkirk basketball teams start their new season with two games.

The Rangers visit Kettle Falls Saturday, Nov. 29. The girls’ varsity follows the JV game, which starts at 3 p.m. The boys’ game follows that. Tuesday, Dec. 2, the Rangers are at home against Valley Christian with action starting at 4:30 p.m.

Club Pines plays thrice to end season

NEWPORT — Club Pines ended their season earlier this month after three league games, all of which they lost.

The Pines visited and lost to Albion in Sandpoint Wednesday, Oct. 29.

They next visited Spokane Legacy Saturday, Nov. 1, losing 2-1. Truce Ugartechea scored the Pines’ only goal.

Their third and final league game of the season was a rematch against Albion, with Albion winning 5-2. Jaden Totland scored one of the Pines’ two goals, with Albion accidentally scoring on themselves for the other.
