Newport hospital holds Festival of Trees

NEWPORT — A local favorite holiday tradition is returning to the Newport Community Hospital Saturday, Dec. 6.

The 2025 Festival of Trees includes free family activities from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a Holiday Gala from 5 to 8 p.m. All activities will be held in the hospital’s Ponderosa Ballroom, accessible through the entrance at the corner of Spruce Street and Scott Avenue.

The daytime portion of the Festival of Trees features free activities for families, including Santa Claus photos, children’s crafts, cookie decorating and refreshments. The Newport High School Choir is performing at 11 a.m.

Later, the Holiday Gala kicks off the evening festivities for adults aged 21 or older. The Gala includes tree viewing, hors d’oeuvres, prime rib dinner, dessert, mini tree silent auction and a no-host beer and wine bar.

Decorated prize trees will be on display throughout the event, many with values over $1,000. Adults aged 18 or older may purchase $1 raffle tickets for the chance to win a tree. The winning tickets will be drawn at the end of the event; winners need not be present to win.

Gala tickets may be reserved in advance for $75 per person by calling 509-447-6286. They may also be purchased online at EventBrite.com. Raffle tickets must be purchased in person, and participants are encouraged to play responsibly. (Individuals who have been harmed by gambling may call 1-800-GAMBLER for help.)

All proceeds from the Festival of Trees benefit the Newport Hospital and Health Services Foundation.
