PRIEST RIVER — The Priest River Lamanna High School girls’ basketball team won two of three home games last week.
Priest River (3-1) first won 36-25 against cross-border rival Newport (2-3, 1-1) Wednesday, Dec. 10. (See related story.)
They next hosted St. Maries (0-4) Thursday, Dec. 11, winning 37-28.
“Aleigha the shot the ball well and McKinley rebounded good,” Priest River coach Tyler Douglas says. “Haylee had a lot of steals.”
Aleigha Jensen and McKinley Burgess- Duquette led in points that night, with 17 and 10.
Saturday, Dec. 13, Priest River hosted Grangeville (4-2), who broke the Spartans’ streak and won 57-13. Grangeville is a super tough fly-around, Douglas says, and are in a league of their own.
“We played hard the whole game,” Douglas says.
Haylee Jepson and Burgess-Duquette led with 5 points each.
The Spartans resume play next week after Christmas Break.
