Selkirk boys continue winning

IONE — The Selkirk Rangers are on a fourgame winning streak, beating Curlew 66-21 Friday, Dec. 12 at Selkirk and Nespelem 66-11 Saturday, Dec. 13 at Nespelem.

“I was really pleased with how the boys came out and took care of business,” Ranger coach Brodie Larson says. “We emphasized ball security; we were able to get a lot of guys quality minutes and maintained good energy throughout both games.”

Keaton Arrastio was high scorer against Curlew with 16 points. Caden Pichette scored 11 and Cade Johnson had 10. The Rangers had 14 steals, with Henry Thompson, Zach VanMeer and Arrastio each swiping the ball three times. Arrastio also led in rebounding, with 15.

Against Nespelem, VanMeer led in rebounding, with 13. He also had seven steals, part of 17 for the Rangers. Paxson Larson got four and Thompson got three steals.

Arrastio was high scorer with 13 points, with Logan Maupin scoring a dozen, as did Kipton Corkill. Nine Rangers scored in the game.

Friday, Dec. 19, the Selkirk Rangers go to Columbia for a 7:30 pm. game. Saturday, Dec. 20, they go to Inchelium for a 5:30 p.m. game.
