NEWPORT – A community vigil for the people of Gaza and Palestine will be Saturday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Big Wheel in downtown Newport.
“As we think of them, our thoughts also turn to all people in our world who are facing persecution for who they are and where they live, people who have lost their children, their lives, their land, their bodies,” organizers said. “We come together to acknowledge them, their pain and their right to thrive. We will raise red ‘candles’ for them. We invite all community members and spiritual communities to join us for song, prayer, meditation and silence.”
