NEWPORT — Santa Claus will make his rounds in Newport Monday, Dec. 22, on his second favorite red vehicle — a fire truck.
Prior to the event, South Pend Oreille Fire & Rescue and the City of Newport will publish the route through social media so you will know what time to come outside and wave to Santa.
The event starts at 4 p.m. when Santa arrives at the Newport Fire Station and will follow the predetermined route to make sure as many streets and neighborhoods as possible are visited.
Visit Santa’s Reindeer
CUSICK — Bring the kids and visit Santa’s Reindeer Saturday, Dec. 20 at Kalispel Casino.
People can get their photos taken with Santa’s reindeer for free, including cookies and hot chocolate, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa Claus will be there noon to 2 p.m.
The Kalispel Casino is located at 420 Qlispé River Way, Cusick.
Hometown Holiday Hop Saturday
PRIEST RIVER — Priest River’s shop local Hometown Holiday Hop event is at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20.
Twelve local businesses are having holiday sales, including Floral Traditions, Jo Mama’s Jr., 57 Store, Priest River Ace, The Clothing Closet, 7 Brews, Jo Mama’s Bakery, Greenhouse Coffee, Cuppa Tea Quilting, Infinity Café, Coffee Cabin and Mi Pueblo. Participants can be entered to win a grand prize basket full of goodies from each location.
Come to ‘An Old-Fashioned Christmas’ Thursday
PRIEST RIVER — The public is invited to the free event “An Old-Fashioned Christmas” at 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Priest River Event Center.
There will be snacks and beverages, sing-along Christmas Carols and free gifts for every child. The event is hosted by the Newport Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Priest River Event Center is located at 5399 Highway 2.
Pictures with Santa at the Fire Station
PRIEST RIVER — West Pend Oreille Fire Station is hosting Pictures with Santa from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 20.
There will be family photos, free hot chocolate and cookies, and people can explore the fire trucks and meet the crew.
The fire station is located at 61 Airfield Way, Priest River.
Santa’s Workshop at Hospitality House
NEWPORT — The 6th Annual Santa’s Workshop is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Hospitality House.
There will be photos with Santa Claus, card-making, hot chocolate, apple cider and coffee. Kids shop for free. The Hospitality House is located at 216 S. Washington Ave., Newport.
