NEWPORT — Two more opportunities to donate blood are coming to Newport over the next month.

The first, a Newport community blood drive, is from 1:30-5:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18 in the basement of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 612 W. First St. in Newport.

The second is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 on the bus at Newport Community Hospital, 714 Pine St. in Newport.

December is one of the most difficult months for blood collection, a Vitalant representative wrote in an email.

Meet the mayor this Sunday

CUSICK — Cusick mayor Robert Reinhardt is hosting a free pancake breakfast from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21 at the American Legion Calispel Post 217. The public is invited to come and visit with the newly elected Reinhardt, ask questions and get to know him.

The American Legion is located at 105 Timber St., Cusick.
