Blanchard center holding Bunco Nights

BLANCHARD — One night every month is Bunco Night at the Blanchard Community Center.

Bunco Nights are the first Friday of every month, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. and the game starting at 5 p.m.

It is $10 per person to play, and there are cash prizes. Snacks are appreciated.

Coming up at Create Art Center

NEWPORT — Create Art Center brings Sean Bostrom back to perform a piano concert from 2 to 4 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 1. He performs classical and jazz music influenced by Victor Borge. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Olivia Giannasi is offering a new antler basket class from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 for $35. This is an advanced class. Saturday, Feb. 28, a fancy round basket for beginners is scheduled. Check the website for the flyer and additional information.

Stephanie’s Belly Dancing classes are from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays. This is a fun activity for any age, fitness level, ability or shape. Each class is $15, or you can pay for four and get the fifth one free.

Missoula Children’s Theatre auditions coming up

METALINE FALLS — Beauty Lou and the Country Beast auditions will be held at the Cutter Theatre right after school at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 for students in grades kindergarten–12th grade. Homeschool students are always encouraged to participate as well. No advance preparation is necessary.

Among the roles to be cast are Beauty Lou, Imaginary Friend, Beast, Dusty and Slim the farmhands, Fleabite Clyde the dog, the Younger Daughters, the Older Daughters, the Country Folk and the Barnyard Critters. Assistant Directors will be cast, as well as actors, to help with technical aspects. Cost to each participant to be in the production is $30. Scholarships are available. Performances are $7 and will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 and 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31.

Reservations are strongly recommended.

Frost to Flowers next Friday

NEWPORT — The Frost to Flowers Quarterly Art Show Reception is 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at Vessel Gallery and Clay Studio. Frost to Flowers features local artists, free snacks and live music by Joanne Heinz on the dulcimer. Vessel is located at 331 S. Washington Ave., Newport.

Friends asking for gift of literacy

NEWPORT — Friends of the Library are asking people to give the gift of literacy by sponsoring free books for a toddler. Now through June 30, 2026, a monthly $3 donation or $36 for six months will deliver a book to a Pend Oreille County child’s mailbox.
