The Newport High School FFA Trapshooting Team traveled to Ritzville Jan.24, weathering freezing temperatures to take first place as a team, competing with 18 other teams. Newport placed three individual shooters in their respective divisions. Lindsay Collison, Ford Klindt, Landon Hall and Luke Wright had the winning team-score of 132 out of 150, ahead of Dayton, which hit 118. Wright ended the day in a three-way tie for first place overall with a score of 46 out of 50. Collison took first place in the female division with a score of 41 out of 50. Hall finished fourth overall with a score of 44.
