POLICE REPORTS

EDITOR’S NOTE: The police reports, taken from dispatch logs provided to The Miner by law enforcement agencies, are not intended to be an exact report, but rather a comprehensive list of police calls in Pend Oreille and West Bonner counties. Dispatch also fields calls for the Kalispel Tribe’s property in Airway Heights.

Certain police calls are generally omitted because of space constraints. These include, but aren’t limited to ambulance calls for illness, unfounded alarms, traffic stops, dogs at large, abandoned vehicles, 911 hang–ups and civil standbys.

All dispositions for the police reports are assumed to be active, assists or transfers at press time.

MONDAY, FEB. 16

ANIMAL PROBLEM: Southshore Diamond Lake Rd., Diamond Lake, report that dog fell through ice.

BURGLARY: Sullivan Lake Rd., Metaline Falls

RUNAWAY JUVENILE: W.

7th St., Newport, report that 11-year-old son ran away.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE: LeClerc Rd. N., Ione, report that caller could hear high-frequency noise in house, and wife said there were people outside who wanted to burn house down.

COLLISION: Hwy. 20, Cusick, report of one-vehicle accident, unknown injury.

ANIMAL CRUELTY: S. Garden Ave., Newport, report that it looked like there was a deceased dog in backyard, as well as inside.

CIVIL: Regal Rd., Elk, report that landlord put up camera pointed directly at front door.

TUESDAY, FEB. 17

ARREST: Camas Flat Rd., Cusick, Patrick Jerry Mackey, 23, of Usk was arrested on an out-of-county warrant.

FISH & GAME: LeClerc Rd. N.

AGENCY ASSIST: E. 4th Ave., Metaline Falls, report of assist with pickup of male subject.

FRAUD: Old LeClerc Rd., Cusick

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE: Fertile Valley Rd., Newport, report that Sunday, Feb. 15, caller came home and found a boot print in her bathtub and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide next to it.

BURGLARY: W. 1st St., Newport, report of someone possibly living in trailer on caller’s property.

AGENCY ASSIST: McAvoy Rd., Newport

COLLISION: Hwy. 2, report of one vehicle off roadway.

ARREST: N. Newport Hwy., Elk, Nicholas Shane Washington, 33, of Nespelem was arrested on an out-of-county warrant.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 18

JAIL HOUSING: S. Garden Ave., Newport, report of transporting inmate.

HARASSMENT: E. 5th Ave.

VEHICLE PROWL: W. 3rd St., Newport

WANTED PERSON: S. Garden Ave., Newport

ARREST: S. Garden Ave., Newport, Joshua Brien Goodale, 35, of Newport was arrested.

ARREST: N. Washington Ave., Newport, Damon Glenn Clark Walker, 31, of Newport was arrested for probation violation.

LITTERING: N. Warren Ave., Newport, report of neighbors putting trash and furniture on caller’s property.

ANIMAL PROBLEM: W. 1st St., Newport, report that aggressive dog went after caller.

ARREST: Hwy. 211, Cassidy Elisabeth Williams, 21, of Cusick was arrested for a local warrant and driving with license suspended.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Ione, report that company kept hanging signs on power poles after being told not to.

FRAUD: S. Calispel Ave., Newport, report that account was fraudulently opened up with caller’s name.

TRESPASSING: W. 1st St., Newport, report that trespassed subject was there last night.

JUVENILE PROBLEM: Monumental Way, Cusick, report of juvenile caught with vape pen.

NON-INJURY COLLISION: Flowery Trail Rd., Newport, report of vehicle in ditch.

FOUND PROPERTY: W. 1st St., Newport, report of found cell phone.
