NEWPORT — Registration for Pend Oreille Little League closes Sunday, March 1. Children need no prior experience. Sports include T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Minors, Majors Baseball and Softball and Juniors softball. Spots are filling and teams will be forming soon.

Spartan wrestlers advance to state

MOSCOW — Eight Spartan wrestlers qualified for All-Class State Championship after winning top spots in district championships at Moscow High School Friday–Saturday, Feb. 20–21.

Priest River wrestlers headed to state are Justin Hopkins, 98-pounds, who won first place; Levi Holbrook, 98, second place; Grady Caudill, 106, third; Tadhg McLaimtaig, who won third; Liam Pettit, 132, fifth; Bill Rapier, 144, fourth; Haiden Leach, 157, fourth; and Christian Williams, 175, in sixth place.

Priest River placed third overall out of 14 teams.

The State Tournament is Friday–Saturday, Feb. 27–28 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.
