Panther baseball underway
CUSICK – The Cusick Panthers baseball team will travel to Odessa for their season opening double header Tuesday, March 17. The first game starts at 2 p.m. A week later the Panthers will be at home for another doubleheader, this time with Selkirk, with the first game also starting at 2 p.m.
Spartan baseball at home Tuesday
PRIEST RIVER – The Priest River boys baseball team opens their season at home Tuesday, March 17, for a doubleheader with the Bonners Ferry junior varsity, with the first game starting at 2 p.m. They’re home again for their second game a week later, Tuesday, March 24 for another doubleheader, with the first game at 2 p.m.
Ranger baseball opens at Springdale
IONE – The Selkirk Rangers baseball team starts their 2026 season with an away game at Springdale Tuesday, March 17, that starts at 3 p.m. The Rangers are at Cusick Saturday, March 21 for a doubleheader with Cusick, with the first game at noon. The Rangers are at home Tuesday, March 24 for a doubleheader with Republic, with the first game at 2 p.m.
Grizzly boys’ soccer starts season
WARDEN – The Newport High School boys’ soccer team starts the spring season with an away game Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m. The Grizzlies will host their first home game of the season against the Clarkston Bantams Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m.
Two Lady Spartans make All League
PRIEST RIVER — Two Priest River Lamanna High School girls’ basketball players were named to the Central Idaho League Second Team, according to the Bonner County Daily Bee.
Senior Aleigha Jensen and sophomore McKinley Burgess-Duquette each received the honors recently, announced Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Grizzly baseball at Freeman
NEWPORT – The Newport Grizzlies baseball team opens their season Tuesday, March 17, at Freeman, with the game starting at 4 p.m. The team doesn’t have any home games currently scheduled until the end of the month when they play a doubleheader with Northwest Christian Saturday, March 28, with the first game starting at noon.

NEWPORT — The Newport High School softball team is starting their season this weekend.
Saturday, March 14, Newport joins Deer Park, Riverside and Lakeside for a series of games at Lakeside in Nine Mile Falls. Play starts at 11 a.m.
