Cusick hosts Selkirk Saturday

CUSICK – The Cusick Panthers will host the Selkirk Rangers for a doubleheader baseball game Saturday, March 21, with the first game at noon.

Tuesday, March 24, Cusick is home again for a game with Tekoa Rosalia, another doubleheader, with the first game at 2 p.m.

Priest River baseball, softball playing this week

PRIEST RIVER – The Priest River Spartans boys’ baseball team and the girls’ softball team opens play this week and the start of next. The girls are at home Thursday, March 19 for a doubleheader with Bonners Ferry, with the first game starting at 2 p.m. The boys play a doubleheader against Bonners Ferry junior varsity Thursday, also at home. Both boys and girls’ teams play again Tuesday, March 24, with another home game with St. Maries that starts at 2 p.m. for both teams.

Newport takes to diamond

NEWPORT – The Newport Grizzlies boys’ baseball and girls’ softball teams take to the field this week.

Saturday, March 21, the boys and girls’ teams play doubleheaders with Lind-Ritzville-Sprague at Ritzville, with the first game starting at noon. Tuesday, March 24, Newport baseball and softball travel to Northwest Christian for a 4p.m. game for both the boys and girls.

Full slate for Grizzly tennis

NEWPORT – The Newport Grizzlies’ tennis teams host two matches this week and will play Saturday at Medical Lake, then two more matches early next week.

The Grizzlies will be at home against Lakeside Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20, against Colville, with matches starting at 3 p.m. Saturday the teams go to Medical Lake for the Medical Lake Jamboree for a full day of play.

They go back to Medical Lake Tuesday, March 24 for matches that start at 3 p.m. Newport is back at home Wednesday, March 25, for a match with Reardan/Davenport.

Panther track and field traveling

CUSICK – The Cusick High School track and field team headed to the Valley Christian Jamboree Tuesday, March 17 for a meet, after The Miner went to press. Results will be in next week’s newspaper. Coming up, Cusick will travel to Colville for the Ezra Gordon Invite Saturday, March 28. The meet starts at 9:30 a.m.

Newport track travels to Colville

NEWPORT – The Newport High School varsity track and field team is slated to go to Colville Friday, March 20 for a meet at 3:30 p.m.
