Lecture features female World War II pilots

METALNE FALLS — The Living Voices will present a free program on the first women who flew for the United States Airforce at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 at the Cutter Theater in Metaline Falls.

“Winning Her Wings: The Women Who Flew For America in WW2” speaks to the almost forgotten women who made up the “Women Airforce Service Pilots,” the WASPs. While the informative program is free to the public, donations are most welcome.

Much of history is so quickly told that important events and people can be lost and forgotten; Living Voices brings these stories back to the front of our historical perspective. This war would not have been won without the women who braved both enemy fire and social convention.

The Cutter Theatre is located at 302 Park St. in Metaline Falls. Call 509-446-4108 for more information, or check the website at www.cuttertheatre.com.
